Get latest information about Covid-19 jab from new webpages

Trusted, accurate and up-to-date information about the Covid-19 vaccine is now available on the City of Wolverhampton Council's website.

Its updated information pages – www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/vaccine – include key facts about the vaccine and what people need to know about getting their jab when they become eligible for it.

It addresses and dispels some of the common myths, and provides answers to a wide range of frequently asked questions, themed by topic, including facts about vaccine safety.

There is also a range of information from experts, as well as community and faith leaders, to download and share, British Sign Language videos and a variety of other materials, videos and downloads in 15 different languages.

The page will updated with the latest information, FAQs and downloads, so people are urged to check back regularly.

Councillor Jasbir Jaspal, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, said: "The successful roll out of this lifesaving vaccine is the quickest way in which we are going to get out of the Covid-19 pandemic, and it is crucial that people get their jabs as soon as they are invited to do so.

"We want to do all we can to reassure people about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine, and through our dedicated webpages we are offering accurate, up-to-date advice and information from Government, NHS and Public Health England experts and trusted community leaders. To find out more, please visit www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/vaccine."

Latest figures show there were 305.9 cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 people in Wolverhampton over the seven days to 6 February. That means 805 people in the city tested positive for the virus in that seven day period – though the true number of new cases will likely be considerably higher.

The latest information and guidance around coronavirus is available at www.gov.uk/coronavirus and on the council’s own coronavirus pages at www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/coronavirus. Further details of the lockdown restrictions currently in place, and the answers to frequently asked questions, are available at www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/covidalert.
